The animation is noticeably rougher here than in Season 2 onward. The backgrounds are flatter, and Finn’s voice (by Jeremy Shada) is slightly higher and more grating. Also, the episode’s moral ("Screaming solves problems") is never referenced again. But for a series pilot, it’s remarkably confident.

Princess Bubblegum accidentally reanimates the dead citizens of the Candy Kingdom while trying to create a "de-anitiation serum." To avoid mass panic, she orders Finn and Jake to guard the walls. When the zombies (or "the accidentally re-animated") attack, Finn devises a solution: scaring them back to death by screaming "The horror! The horror!" into a megaphone.

INT. CANDY CASTLE - NIGHT

Finn slams the massive double doors shut.

PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM Okay, we are safe. But the rest of the kingdom is trapped outside with those monsters. I have to create an antidote.

FINN You got it, Princess! We’ll hold them off!

PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM Wait! There is a royal rule. You must NEVER tell the Candy People about the zombies.

FINN What? Why?

PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM Because Candy People are made of sugar. If they get scared, they literally explode. Literally.

She points to a portrait of a previous ruler.

PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM It happened to my Uncle Lemongrab... well, not really, but it happens!

She rushes off to the lab.

JAKE So... we have to protect a bunch of candy folks without telling them they are in danger?

FINN Easy peasy. We’ll just throw a party!

INT. CANDY CASTLE MAIN HALL - MOMENTS LATER

Finn claps his hands.

FINN (Shouting) ALRIGHT, CANDY PEOPLE! SLUMBER PARTY!

The room is filled with CINNAMON BUN, STARCHIE, and various other Candy People. They cheer.

CINNAMON BUN (Drooling slightly) I like parties. Can I blow the horn?

FINN Sure, dude. Whatever keeps you calm.

EXT. CASTLE WALLS - CONTINUOUS

The Zombies are banging on the door. THUD. THUD. THUD.

INT. CASTLE MAIN HALL - CONTINUOUS

Starchie hears the thumping.

STARCHIE Hey, what’s that noise?

Finn sweats. He dives in front of Starchie.

FINN Uh... that’s... that’s the beat! For the music!

Finn signals Jake. Jake stretches his body into a pair of drums.

FINN (Singing badly) Drop the beat, Jake! We’re partying all night, Everything is alright, Don't worry about the knocking, Just keep on rocking!

The Candy People cheer and start dancing.

While Finn screams at zombies, Jake shapeshifts into a boat, a bridge, and a set of keys. He doesn't question the plan; he just supports it. This dynamic (wild hero + chill sidekick) remains the emotional engine of the entire series. Jake’s one-liner, "This is exactly like that movie, 'The Horror.'" is pure meta-commentary—he knows they’re in a genre parody. adventure time 1. sezon 1. bolum

INT. CASTLE MAIN HALL - LATER

The party is in full swing.

Suddenly, a ZOMBIE HAND breaks through the heavy wooden door. It grabs a CANDY CANE GUARD and drags him outside.

SCREAMS are heard.

The music stops.

CINNAMON BUN What was that?

Finn looks terrified. He looks at the door. He looks at the Candy People.

FINN (Thinking fast) That was... uh... a magic trick! Yeah! The Amazing Finn!

JAKE (Whispering) Finn, they’re breaking in!

The doors begin to crack. Wood splinters fly.

PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM runs down the stairs, holding a beaker of glowing green liquid.

PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM I’ve got the antidote!

CRASH!

The doors burst open. A horde of CANDY ZOMBIES floods the room.

ZOMBIES (Groaning) SUUUUGAAAAAR...

The Candy People freeze.

STARCHIE ZOMBIES?!

Starchie SCREAMS.

BOOM!

Starchie explodes into pink dust.

The other Candy People see the zombies. They all scream.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Candy People start popping left and right.

FINN Aw, math! They’re exploding!

PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM Finn! Use the antidote!

She tosses the beaker. Finn catches it.

The zombies surround him. They lunge.

FINN (Battle Cry) ALGEBRAIC!

Finn jumps into the air. He smashes the beaker onto the floor.
