The villain of the story is Lord Choi, a powerful and corrupt noble who controls Miryang. He is revealed to be the mastermind behind Seo-rim's death and is involved in a web of political corruption and human trafficking.

Simultaneously, a supernatural threat looms. Moo-young, an emissary from the Underworld (a Grim Reaper), appears. He is actually the deity Yeom-ra (the Jade Emperor) in disguise.
