Asterix Obelix- Slap Them All- 2 Switch Nsp -... -
The original game played like Streets of Rage with a Gaulish skin: you moved left to right on a straight line. Slap them All! 2 introduces a 360-degree free-roaming arena brawler style. You now control Asterix and Obelix (simultaneously in local co-op) in large, open maps inspired by the comic Asterix and the Chieftain’s Shield.
Unlike many modern games that rely on 3D models, Slap Them All! 2 uses hand-drawn sprites and backgrounds directly inspired by Uderzo’s original artwork. On the Switch’s handheld screen or docked mode, the animation is fluid, vibrant, and full of small comedic details.
The combat is satisfyingly physical:
Performance: The Switch version runs at a stable 60fps in handheld mode. The cartoon visuals scale down beautifully. Verdict: If you love Asterix or old-school side-scrolling brawlers, this is a hidden gem. It’s short (about 3–4 hours), but the co-op fun and comic-style cutscenes make it a joy. Unlike the first game, which was a pure arcade beat ‘em up following the "Road to Rome" storyline, Slap them All! 2 changes the formula dramatically—for the better.
This is crucial for Switch owners. How does a 2D brawler perform on Nintendo’s hybrid console?
Verdict: It is not a 60 FPS fighter, but for a casual beat ‘em up, the performance is rock solid. No game-breaking bugs have been reported as of the latest patch (v1.2.0). Important: Do not install unsigned NSPs while connected
If you grew up reading the comic books by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, or watching the beloved animated films, you know that Asterix and Obelix represent more than just French pop culture — they are global icons of humor, friendship, and relentless defiance against the Roman Empire.
Now, the dynamic duo returns in their second beat-‘em-up adventure: Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2, developed by Mr. Nutz Studio and published by Microids. After the success of the first Slap Them All! in 2021, the sequel promises bigger brawls, more slapstick humor, and a faithful comic-book art style on the Nintendo Switch.
But what makes the Switch version special? Is it worth buying the official NSP (the encrypted Nintendo Submission Package format for digital downloads) from the eShop? Let’s dive in.
