Your path should look like this:
X:\PSP\GAME\CRASH1\EBOOT.PBP
Step 1: Rip the Disc
Insert your Crash Bandicoot disc into your PC’s DVD drive. Open ImgBurn, select “Create image file from disc.” Output format: Bin/Cue. Name it Crash1.bin. This takes about 5 minutes.
Step 2: Open PSX2PSP
Launch PSX2PSP. Click the “ISO/PBP” tab. Click “Add” and select your Crash1.cue file.
Step 3: Configure the Eboot
Step 4: Customize (The Fun Part) Find high-res images online:
Step 5: Convert
Hit “Convert.” In 60 seconds, you will have a folder containing EBOOT.PBP. Place that folder in PSP/GAME/CRASH1/ on your PSP’s memory card.
Step 6: Play Disconnect your PSP, navigate to Game → Memory Stick. You will see Crash Bandicoot. Launch and enjoy. crash bandicoot 1 psp eboot
Disconnect your PSP from the computer. Go to your Game menu on the XMB (the PSP main menu). You should see the Crash Bandicoot icon. Press X, and away you go!
Once you have (or made) the EBOOT file:
You’ll see Crash’s smiling (or menacing) face as an icon. Launch it. Your path should look like this: X:\PSP\GAME\CRASH1\EBOOT
Maybe you don’t own a physical PSP. The same Crash Bandicoot 1 PSP Eboot runs beautifully on PPSSPP, the cross-platform PSP emulator.
To get this running, you need a few things prepared:
Crash Bandicoot 1 as a PSP eboot is technically viable, stable, and offers near-perfect performance on all PSP models. However, due to legal restrictions and the availability of the N. Do not download pre-made eboots – that constitutes piracy. If you want to play Crash Bandicoot legally on the go, purchase the N. Sane Trilogy on Nintendo Switch or emulate the PS1 version on a PC with your own disc image.
