Cause: The file is corrupted or from a newer version of Advanced Installer.
Fix: Open the .aip in a text editor (Notepad++). Look for an <AIP> tag with a version attribute. If the version is higher than your installed Advanced Installer, upgrade or convert the file manually.

Often, you can bypass the error by creating a dummy .aip file (an empty text file renamed to dxfdwg.aip) and placing it in the expected directory. If the software proceeds, the file was only a placeholder.
If you are using a modern operating system (Windows 10/11, macOS Ventura or later), the dxfdwg.aip plugin may be incompatible. Instead:
DWG is the native file format for AutoCAD drawings. It is the industry standard for proprietary CAD data. Unlike DXF (which is open), DWG is a proprietary binary format.
