The proliferation of cloud storage services has led to the widespread adoption of freemium and premium subscription models. This paper investigates the "Filedot Premium Account" as a representative case study to examine user motivations, perceived value, and the economic sustainability of tiered storage services. Using a mixed-method approach—combining a survey of 500 users, a feature comparison analysis, and a cost-benefit model—we find that premium accounts significantly improve user experience through higher upload/download speeds, increased storage capacity, and advanced security features. However, user retention strongly depends on transparent pricing and the perceived marginal utility over free tiers.
