Step 1: Mortise Alignment Ensure the Mortise (the metal lock body inside the door edge) fits the cutout. The V20 requires a specific 2.0-inch backset. If your old lock has a different backset, you will need a new door prep.

Step 4: Master Pin Creation (CRITICAL) The lock ships in "Factory Mode." You have exactly 5 minutes after inserting batteries to register the Master Password. If you fail to do this, the lock will beep continuously and require a hard reset.
