The "download" is a delivery from your authorized reseller; the "install" is simply copying files to the correct directory and validating them. Always run your first post-processed file through a backplotter or machine simulation before going to the shop floor.
If you need a post for a new machine, contact your local GibbsCAM reseller directly. They are the only safe source for a correct, functional, and licensed post processor.
The default paths vary by version:
