The best VPK builds include a custom controls.ini file.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a massive game. Originally released on the PlayStation 2 in 2004, it features an enormous map, deep RPG mechanics, and a legendary soundtrack. While Rockstar Games never officially ported this title to the Vita, the open-source "re3" project (Reverse Engineering of GTA III) made it possible.

Thanks to skilled developers like TheFlow and Rinnegatamante, the Vita can run a native port of the Android/iOS version of San Andreas. This isn't emulation (like using Adrenaline for PSP games); this is a native ARM build. That means better frame rates, touchscreen support, and full access to the Vita’s hardware controls.

After testing all versions on a PS Vita 2000 (overclocked to 500Mhz), the winner for the keyword "best" is:

The Rinnegatamante v.1.2 Launcher + The "Optimized Data Files" (Version 1.7 of the port)

Why? Because it offers stability (no random crash to LiveArea), 25-30 FPS consistently outside of the hottest Los Santos traffic, and full touchscreen support for the map.

Do NOT download a single monolithic "GTA_SA.VPK" file. They almost always corrupt. The correct setup is:
