The IBM Storwize V7000 (2076) is a midrange enterprise storage system. Before you can configure the system for the first time, you must run the Initialization Tool. This tool discovers the new storage system on the network and sets the initial management IP address, system name, and time zone.
Important: The Initialization Tool is not a general firmware update or management client. It is required only for the first-time setup of a brand-new or factory-reset Storwize V7000 control enclosure.
This method is particularly useful when no PC with Ethernet is available.
