Deep Sea Electronics might provide a master password based on the unit’s serial number and a proof of ownership. This is rare but possible. Contact your local distributor.

If 1234 does not grant access to the settings menu, the controller has likely been re-programmed by the generator manufacturer or a previous technician. DSE controllers allow users to change these defaults for security purposes.

Recovery Options:

Refurbish/Clone (Advanced): If you have a DSE Configuration Suite PC cable (Part # PC02 or PC03), you can attempt to connect a laptop to the controller. While you cannot read the password, you can sometimes upload a new configuration file that overwrites the settings, effectively resetting the password to default (though this will wipe all other site-specific settings).

Recommended passwords: Use 6-8 digits that have personal meaning but are not easily guessed. Example: 490215 (your service van number + day of month). Write it down in a secure location (not taped to the controller!).
