Step 1 – Install and Open JBL Portable App
Download from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Ensure the app has location permissions (Android) and Bluetooth permissions (iOS). The Go 3’s battery light turns red at
Step 2 – Connect the JBL Go 3
Power on the speaker. In the app, tap “Add New Product” → select “Go Series” → “Go 3.” The app will detect the speaker via Bluetooth.
Step 3 – Check for Firmware Updates
Once connected, navigate to Settings (gear icon) → Speaker Version → Firmware Update. The app will query JBL’s servers for the latest firmware version. from v0.1.0 to v0.2.5)
Step 4 – Execute the Update
If an update is available (e.g., from v0.1.0 to v0.2.5), tap “Update.” Keep the phone and speaker within 1 meter. Do not play audio or close the app. The speaker will blink white LED during the update (approximately 2–3 minutes). Upon completion, the speaker will power cycle.
Step 5 – Verify Success
Reconnect to the app and check “Speaker Version” again to confirm the new build number.
