Gameplay becomes a loop of anticlimax. There are no enemies — only doors. Hundreds of doors. Each door leads to another identical chamber. Every fifth door contains a mirror. Fix: You need a CPU limiter. Download Battle Encoder Shirase or use RivaTuner Statistics Server to cap Lara.exe to 30 or 60 FPS. Alternatively, enable Vertical Sync in dgVoodoo2 control panel.

Thematically, “Lara + The Gatekeeper Install” is a brilliant, brutal deconstruction of Lara Croft’s core fantasy. The original Lara is a violator of thresholds — she breaks into sealed tombs, disturbs ancient rest, and claims power through transgression. The Gatekeeper inverts that. Lara becomes the antithesis of herself: a static warden, a prison architect, a heroine whose only victory is maintaining a perfect, boring, agonizing stalemate.
