Negoro is the ship’s cook. He is a Spanish-speaking Portuguese man with a dark past. Unknown to everyone, he is a slave trader. He was supposed to be arrested in New Zealand but escaped by signing onto the Pilgrim. After the crew’s death, Negoro sees an opportunity.
