Do not double-click the installer yet. Instead, open Terminal and change your system date to a time when El Capitan’s certificate was still valid:

date 0101010015

(That sets the date to Jan 1, 2015, at 01:00 AM)

Now double-click the installer. It will launch without errors. Run the installation. After installation finishes, restart and reset the date automatically (System Preferences > Date & Time > Set date and time automatically).
