My 9892 Datasheet May 2026

Based on the official datasheet for the 9892 optocoupler, here is the standard application circuit for isolating a 24V industrial PLC input from a 5V microcontroller.

For an 8-pin configuration, the pinout is standard for many audio amps, but always verify against the specific manufacturer diagram: my 9892 datasheet

[5V Microcontroller] ----> 330R ----> Pin 1 (Anode)
[Microcontroller GND] ----> Pin 2 (Cathode)
[24V PLC Power Supply] ----> Pin 6 (Vcc)
Pin 5 (Output) ----> 4.7k Resistor ----> PLC Input Pin
Pin 4 (GND) ----> PLC GND

Note: The output is open-collector. This means you must connect a pull-up resistor (R2) from Pin 5 to Pin 6 (Vcc). Without it, the output will float and give false readings. Note: The output is open-collector
