Solution:

WebCamXP does not natively add random strings like secret32l to its URL schema. This means a user (or a tutorial) manually created this. Here is how to make it meaningful: my webcamxp server 8080 secret32l work

  • If the software uses a path for the stream, try: http://<HOST_IP>:8080/secret32l or the path shown in WebcamXP.
  • If the page/stream loads, local setup is correct.

    • Using a plain string like secret32l in a URL is not secure by modern standards. Anyone on your network could guess or discover it. If your server is exposed to the internet, bots constantly scan port 8080. Solution: WebCamXP does not natively add random strings
