Në kontekstin shqiptar, ai tradicionalisht përfshinte numrat fiks të vendosur nga Albtelecom (ish-ndërmarrja shtetërore e telefonisë), por me kalimin e viteve, koncepti është zgjeruar për të përfshirë edhe numrat celularë të operatorëve si Vodafone Albania, One Albania (ish-Telekom Albania) dhe ALBtelecom Mobile (Eagle).
