Attempting to flash your phone incorrectly can permanently damage it. Make sure you have the following:

Disconnect the USB cable. Press and hold Power + Volume Down for 10 seconds to exit meta mode. The phone will vibrate and show the OPPO logo. First boot takes 5-10 minutes – normal.
