For the uninitiated, an Egglocke takes the brutal "permadeath" rules of a standard Nuzlocke and replaces wild encounters with mystery Eggs.
You have no idea what is inside. That Egg could be a godly Bagon, a useless Magikarp, or a rare Beldum. You must raise it from Level 1 and pray it doesn't faint before it learns a real move.
Before you hit that download button, you need to understand what makes this different from a standard Nuzlocke.
A standard Nuzlocke follows two main rules:
An Egglocke twists the first rule. Instead of catching whatever you find in the grass, every time you catch a Pokemon, you must swap it out for an egg that has been pre-generated into the game. This means your team is a complete mystery. You could be stuck with a Magikarp for three gyms, or you might hatch a legendary Pokemon right before the Elite Four.
It is the ultimate gamble, and in Pokemon Emerald, with its diverse ecosystem, the possibilities are endless.
Warning: Avoid "APK" downloads or "ROM installer EXEs." A legitimate GBA ROM is a single .gba file. Nothing more.
