While the animation style of 2008 shows its age slightly compared to modern sequels like Vendetta or Death Island, the 1080p high-definition transfer highlights the creature design beautifully. The film’s antagonist, a G-Virus mutated monster, is a terrifying highlight. The creature design borrows heavily from the grotesque body horror of the earlier games, providing a visceral threat that feels genuinely dangerous.

The film doesn't shy away from the gore. The airport terminal setting provides a claustrophobic "siege" atmosphere, reminiscent of the police station siege in RE2. It captures that specific Resident Evil feeling: being trapped in a confined space with limited ammo and an overwhelming horde.
