Finding Resolume Arena plugins free is one thing; getting them to show up is another. Many VJs give up here because they download a .dll or .component file and Resolume ignores it.

Follow this strict protocol:

  • For FFGL files: You will see files ending in .ffgl or .effect bundle. Drag these directly into the plugins folder.
  • For VST files: You must keep them in your system VST folder (usually C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins). Then, inside Resolume, go to Preferences > Video > VST Plugin Path and add that folder. Restart Resolume.
  • The Security Check (Mac Only): Apple hates plugins. When you try to open Resolume after installing new FFGLs, it will likely say "The plugin cannot be verified." Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and click "Allow Anyway."

    • Pro Tip: Create a folder inside plugins called ZZZ_Disabled. If a plugin crashes Resolume (some free ones will), move it there immediately.
