Rus Enstitusu - Ders 8

In Russian, verbs of motion are more complex than in English. In Lesson 8, we focus on the distinction between Unidirectional (going one way right now) and Multidirectional (going there and back, or habitually).

Идти (Tek yön – şu an):

Ходить (Genel / Çok yön):

İpucu: Türk öğrenciler sık sık "Ben her gün idu" der. Bu yanlıştır! Alışkanlık varsa Ходить kullanılır. Tek anlık, belirli eylem varsa Идти kullanılır.

You learned in Ders 6 or 7 that the Prepositional case answers О ком? (O kom? – About whom?) and О чём? (O chyom? – About what?). It is always used with prepositions: о (about), в (in), на (on). Rus Enstitusu - Ders 8

In Rus Enstitusu - Ders 8, we expand this to include complex locations and the concept of thinking.

  • Welcome back to our comprehensive series on learning Russian through a structured, institute-level approach. If you have been following along from Ders 1 to Ders 7, you have already conquered the Cyrillic alphabet, basic greetings, the concept of grammatical gender, and the rudiments of the Nominative, Accusative, and Prepositional cases. Congratulations—you are moving past the novice stage.

Rus Enstitusu - Ders 8 marks a pivotal shift. This is where beginner hesitation meets intermediate confidence. In this lesson, we will tackle three pillars of the Russian language: the Genitive Case (Родительный падеж), the Prepositional Case in deeper context, and the first concrete steps into Verbs of Motion (Глаголы движения).

By the end of this article, you will understand not just how to form these structures, but why native speakers use them.

Even advanced learners stumble here. The Enstitü method emphasizes error correction. Ходить (Genel / Çok yön):

  • Mistake: Using ИДТИ for a habitual action.
  • Mistake: Forgetting the Prepositional location ending -у for some masculine nouns.
