Traktor Pro 3 Midi Mapping
Every mapping entry has three critical settings:
This is what separates Traktor from every other DJ software on the market. Modifiers are virtual switches (0, 1, 2, 3, up to 7) that live inside Traktor.
You can set a button on your controller to increase a Modifier by 1 every time you press it. Then, you can tell other buttons: "Only perform Action A if Modifier 1 = 0. Only perform Action B if Modifier 1 = 1."
Many techno DJs refuse to use standard layouts. They want 4 dedicated filter knobs, specific reverb/delay macros, and instant 32-beat loops. Only custom MIDI mapping provides this level of tactile control.
It is important to note that Native Instruments controllers (Komplete Kontrol, Traktor Kontrol S2/3/4, Z1/X1) use HID (Human Interface Device) for advanced communication (RGB light feedback, screen scribble strips). However, they also operate in standard MIDI mode. This guide focuses on Generic MIDI mapping, which works for any controller: Akai, Novation, Allen & Heath, Denon, or even your laptop keyboard.
Traktor often has default mappings for "Play" and "Cue." If your button does two things, it will glitch. In the Assignment Table, search for the MIDI note you are using. If you see any conflicts, right-click them > Delete.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
