TWRP allows you to flash root packages. For the SM-T560, flashing Magisk.zip or UPDATE-SuperSU.zip via TWRP is the most reliable method to gain root access.

The file extension .tar is a critical detail. Samsung devices, particularly those with Exynos or Spreadtrum chipsets prior to 2017, use the Odin protocol for flashing firmware and recoveries over a USB connection. Odin, Samsung’s proprietary download mode tool, expects files in a tar archive (sometimes with .md5 checksum extensions).
A .tar file for TWRP contains the raw recovery image (usually named recovery.img) packaged without compression.
