Scrolls are a type of in-game currency that can be used to unlock characters. You can collect scrolls by completing story missions, achieving specific ranks in online multiplayer, or purchasing them with in-game currency or real money. Once you have enough scrolls, you can redeem them to unlock characters.
If you have the expansion, these are the newest characters. They are unlocked almost exclusively through the expansion story.
If you own the Road to Boruto expansion, the fastest way to unlock the new generation characters is by playing the expansion story mode. Most are unlocked simply by beating the story. Unlock Mechanism :
The Shop bypasses many characters, but some are locked behind story progression. You cannot buy these with Ryo.

Verified Tip: You do not need to S Rank every mission. Only Night Guy requires S Rank. All others unlock simply by finishing the chapter on any difficulty. User Interface :
