Before he became "Thalapathy," Vijay was simply a boy named Joseph. Born to director S. A. Chandrasekhar, Vijay was introduced to cinema very early. His first appearance was as a child artist. However, his official debut as a lead hero happened in 1992. These early films were mostly family dramas and romantic stories, which helped him build a sweet, boy-next-door image.
