Cause: The DATA folder is missing or misnamed. Fix: Open your mod folder in the Databases directory. It must contain a folder named DATA (all caps). Inside DATA, you need files like Fighters.dat, Events.dat, etc. If you see config.ini but no DATA folder, create one manually and move the .dat files into it.

After years of community testing, these mods have proven stable. Each one passes the "wmma 5 mods work" reliability test. Grey Dog Software does not provide technical support

  • Export pictures into the appropriate Pictures subfolders.
  • Save your new database into WMMA5/Databases/MyCustomMod.
  • When creating complex mods, always back up your work regularly – the editor does not auto-save.

This is where most people stumble. The database is one thing; the pictures are another. Export pictures into the appropriate Pictures subfolders

Mod pictures (fighter faces, logos, belts, events) must go into:

    WMMA5/Pictures/

But within Pictures, the structure matters. A typical mod expects:

    Pictures/
      People/
      Companies/
      Events/
      Belts/
      TV Shows/
      Venues/

If the mod’s Pictures folder already matches this structure, merge them. If not, read the mod’s Readme.txt carefully.

WMMA5 mods work on both Windows and macOS, but installation paths differ slightly (covered below).
