Directed by Declan O’Brien (who also helmed parts 3 and 4), Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines takes place in the fictional town of Fairlake, West Virginia. A group of friends attending a mountain festival run afoul of the inbred cannibal clan, led this time by a new antagonist: Maynard (played by Doug Bradley, best known as Pinhead from Hellraiser). Maynard is the uncle of Three Finger from previous films.
Unlike earlier entries, Bloodlines introduces a more psychological torture angle, stripping back the forest-chase formula for a siege narrative set in a hospital.
