Flashing the token doesn’t erase sensitive partitions like persist or EFS. It simply authorizes the unlock. You can even relock the bootloader cleanly later (unlike some Xiaomi or Realme devices).
For OnePlus 8/9/10 users, you can sometimes downgrade to an early OxygenOS 11 build using the MSM Download Tool (a unbrick tool that resets your phone to factory firmware). Early OOS 11 builds on these devices did not require a token.
Risky but better workflow:
Warning: This method is better for freedom but worse for stability. You risk bricking if you use the wrong MSM package.
Download and flash the token:
After 7 days, OnePlus emails you a .bin file. Flash it:
fastboot flash unlock_token Unlock_token.bin
If successful, you see OKAY [ 0.XXs].
Finally unlock:
fastboot flashing unlock
Use the volume keys to confirm on the phone screen. The device will wipe all data and reboot.
Why is this not better? Because the process is slow, opaque, and often fails. OnePlus’s token server has been down for weeks at a time. Users in certain regions cannot access the site. Worse, OxygenOS 13 and 14 introduced a mandatory 7-day waiting period after inserting a SIM—even after you receive the token.

За 25 лет работы в строительной отрасли перепробовал много поставщиков ЖБИ, но сотрудничество с этой компанией впервые понравилось по всем пунктам. Во-первых, качество – если заказываешь, к примеру, ПАГ-20, получаешь ПАГ-20 с проектными параметрами. Во-вторых, цена: покапаешь напрямую от производителя, минуя посредников и перекупщиков, которые якобы предлагают оптовые цены. Поверьте, разница заметна даже при мелком опте. Ну и в-третьих: ответственность. Баррикада – первая за 25 лет компания, которая ни разу (!) не сорвала сроки поставок и не подвела. Поэтому однозначно 10 из 10!
